The OMA Insurance has transitioned to Manulife
Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada sold and exited its creditor and affinity business to Canadian Premier Life Insurance Company. OMA insurance products fell under the affinity business, and this was the part of its business that provided benefits to OMA members. The OMA was not consulted in this decision and this transaction was completed on Feb. 1, 2023. The OMA advocates for the well-being of our members and, as such, went to market and evaluated the insurance options available. The OMA accepted an offer from The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (Manulife), approved by both the OMA Insurance and OMA Boards, to continue to provide the same excellent service our members have come to expect, as of Sept. 1, 2023.
