The benefits of Travel Insurance

Single-trip travel protection

Whether you are travelling outside your province or Canada, Manulife Financial Travel Insurance plans are designed to help protect you against the cost of unexpected emergencies that may occur before or during your trip.

Multi-trip travel protection

If you plan on travelling a few times in the next 12 months, it may be cost-effective to buy a multi-trip plan. One premium payment can cover you for an unlimited number of trips. Choose a four-, 10-, 18-, 30- or 60-day plan and take as many trips as you want during the next 12 months.

Travel protection for students

The student plan offers those who are studying away from home a smart and economical way to help protect themselves against the cost of emergency medical, basic health-care expenses and more. Family coverage is also available for immediate family members residing with the student.

Emergency Medical Plan for Visitors to Canada

If you have friends or family visiting from overseas, they will not be covered by our government health insurance plans, which could result in expensive out-of-pocket payments for any health-care needs they require. While you are away, this plan can cover many costs for both emergency and non-emergency medical expenses — up to $2 million.

International students studying in Canada

If you are coming from outside Canada to study here, it is important to protect yourself with medical insurance. While many medical costs are covered for Canadians, unfortunately that protection is not extended to international students. While you are in Canada, this plan can cover many costs for both emergency and non-emergency medical expenses — up to $2 million.

Canadians studying outside of Canada

Are you preparing to study abroad? If you fall sick or get injured outside Canada, your government health insurance plan provides limited coverage, putting you on the hook for expensive medical costs.
