Travel
However long your trip, don’t spend a lifetime paying for it.
Your travel essentials should include peace of mind.
As a physician, you know the value of having the right protection when travelling – from anti-viral shots to stomach medication to sunscreen. But it's just as critical to protect your finances, especially considering the staggering costs of a medical emergency outside your home country or province – expenses that can have a long lasting affect on your finances.
That's why OMA travel insurance makes a world of sense for you and your loved ones. If you do not have OMA Health Benefits or need to supplement your existing travel coverage, you can choose from a range of options available through our new travel insurance partner, Manulife.
Do you have OMA Health Benefits or OPIP?
If you have OMA Health Benefits (including OPIP) you are covered for $2-million emergency out-of-country medical coverage for the first 90 days of travel if you are under age 70 and for the first 30 days of travel, if you are age 70 or over.

Travel Protection for Students
Students Studying in Canada Outside their Home Province
If you’re studying in Canada, but outside your home province or territory, you won’t have the full protection of your government health insurance plan. While you're away, this plan can cover many costs for both emergency and non-emergency medical expenses – up to $2 million.
International Students Studying in Canada
If you're coming from outside Canada to study here, it's important to protect yourself with medical insurance. While many medical costs are covered for Canadians, unfortunately that protection is not extended to international students. While you're in Canada, this plan can cover many costs for both emergency and non-emergency medical expenses – up to $2 million.
Canadian Students Studying Outside Canada
Are you preparing to study abroad?
