Enhancing your health and dental benefits

The needs of plan members continue to evolve and change over time. More physicians are taking advantage of OMA’s exclusive OPIP, health and dental plans, and experiencing the value that these plans offer. Introducing the Pregnancy and Family Support Benefit

On January 1, 2022, OMA Insurance will introduce new enhancements to the OMA health plan that will provide more comprehensive care to support plan members and their families. These enhancements will help thousands of members access new services to keep their families and themselves healthy.

These new enhancements include:

  • the addition of coverage for lactation consultants
  • services for a birthing coach and doula
  • an increase to the fertility drug maximum
  • complementary health coverage for 12 months for your dependents in the event of your death

Members specifically requested these services be available to them as part of their health plan. A special thanks to OMA’s past-president, Dr. Samantha Hill, and Dr. Clover Hemans, Co-Chair of OMA Women, for sharing the unique experiences that physicians with young families are facing. This direct member feedback inspired us to continue to build upon the existing coverage to further support members.

Changes to the Dental Plan

Physicians with an OMA Dental Plan have requested that coverage by dental specialists be included in the plan, and these services will be available as of January 1, 2022.

As mentioned in our recent email/letter, your Annual Renewal notices will be sent by Sunlife in early December and will include specific details about your new premium.
