There are essentially two components that make up the Overwatch service provided to OPIP-insured OMA members: a mobile app and a response-monitored service.
Available for use regardless of destination, this app will enable you to access travel risk alerts specific to your itinerary, immediate access to the crisis response centre, an SOS alert button for emergencies, the ability to activate tracking and update your location by manually selecting “Check In.” The app can be downloaded from all stores.
If your itinerary is not yet finalized, you can contact Drum Cussac for more information and advice. You may request a call back if that is more convenient for you.
For inquiries about travel alerts, security concerns, pre-travel advisories and more, email Drum Cussac at OMAtravelsecurity@drum-cussac.com or call 011 44 1202 937 40. To register for the service, fill in the Drum Cussac itinerary capture form.
When your trip has been logged, you will receive a welcome email from Drum Cussac, which will contain a hyperlink to create a user for the GlobalRiskManager platform and mobile app. You will only receive the welcome email once, as long as your traveller credentials remain the same for any subsequent journeys (first name, last name and email address).
There are two steps to signing in:
For each trip you record using the itinerary capture form, you will receive a pre-travel email five days prior to the start of your journey, which will contain relevant specific country security information.
Upon arrival at airport destinations, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your arrival, which can be done by clicking on the link contained within the email. This will in turn inform the response centre that you have arrived at your destination.
If you fail to confirm your arrival within the pre-determined timeframe of 60 minutes, the response centre will contact you to ensure your safe arrival.
Should you wish to update your current location, pressing the “Check-In” button on the mobile app will send a notification to the system and the response centre.
The purpose of this service is to provide physicians travelling to extreme or high-risk destinations with an added layer of security information and advice prior to, during and post travel.
Travellers will also be closely monitored by a 24/7 crisis response centre, should assistance be required or a security-related emergency arise.

Risk ratings for countries can change, so if there is any doubt, please contact the crisis response centre at 011 44 1202 937 401 (U.K.) or email OMAtravelsecurity@drum-cussac.com for a current risk rating.
Complete the itinerary capture form and send it via email it to the crisis response centre using the address on the form. This will provide Drum Cussac with sufficient information to enable them to contact you and monitor your travel itinerary during the trip.
Should you feel threatened, in danger or are required to be evacuated, contact the crisis response centre immediately at 011 44 1202 937 401 (U.K.) or OMAtravelsecurity@drum-cussac.com to seek guidance and advice. You will be given assistance and instructions of any evacuation plan. The information provided on the Overwatch pre-travel form becomes extremely useful should this event occur, so please take the time to fully answer any questions prior to your trip.
In the event of hostile or dangerous conditions while you are on a trip outside of Canada and an emergency situation arises, Drum Cussac will use its best efforts to attempt to arrange for your evacuation to the nearest safe and acceptable location, up to a maximum of $100,000 per trip.
Evacuation services will be provided from an international airport designated by Drum Cussac security personnel. Evacuation decisions will be made by security personnel, in consultation with interested governments, security analysts, the insurance company and/or the member. In the event that evacuation becomes impractical due to hostile or dangerous conditions, Drum Cussac will use resources at its disposal to maintain contact with you until evacuation becomes practical or the emergency due to hostile or dangerous conditions has ended.
International companies and organizations worldwide choose Drum Cussac to protect their personnel, assets, profitability and reputation. It currently protects more than 11 million lives in some of the world’s highest-risk environments. Drum Cussac’s mission is to safeguard its clients by integrating best-in-class information technology with deep operational security capability.
