We will only collect information that is relevant and consistent to and consistent with the purposes of the collection. Whenever practical, we will collect the required information directly from you, or from your authorized representative(s), in completed applications and forms, through other means of correspondence, such as the telephone, mail, email or the Internet, and through your business dealings with us.
We collect, use or disclose your personal information with your permission. Your permission may be expressed in writing or be implied and you may give it to us verbally, electronically or in writing. You may withdraw your permission to collect, use and disclose your personal information at any time subject to legal and contractual restrictions and by providing us with reasonable notice.

Providing us with your personal information is always your choice. However, in dealings that involve insurance services, your decision to withhold particular details may limit or prevent us from providing the products or services you have requested. The withholding of information may also impact on how a claim is processed or how decisions are made by an insurer under the group policies. It may also make it more difficult for us to advise you or suggest appropriate alternatives.
Under certain circumstances, your personal information may be shared with other organizations that service your account such as MD Financial, Sun Life Financial, New York Life Insurance and Canada Life Assurance. This disclosure may occur as necessary to process or service the requested or authorized transactions, such as to secure quotations for insurance, obtain insurance coverage, or report or process claims. In addition, we may disclose personal information as otherwise permitted or required by law. The OMA require similar protection of your personal information by all other organizations that service your account in a manner that is consistent with our privacy policies and security practices.
OMAI Inc. will not disclose personal information about you to other third parties that are, including your spouse, agents, brokers and financial advisors without current, written consent from you in a form acceptable to OMAI Inc.
We may use service providers to perform specialized services on our behalf such as printing, research, marketing, mail distribution or data processing. Our service providers may at times be responsible for processing or handling personal information. They are provided only the information necessary to perform the services. In addition, we require them to protect the information in a manner that is consistent with our privacy policies and security practices.
Access to your information is restricted to authorized employees who have a legitimate business purpose for accessing it. Unauthorized access to and/or disclosure of client information by an employee of the OMA is strictly prohibited. All employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of client information at all times. They know they are to use the information only for the purposes intended, and this expectation is clearly communicated. We've also established physical and systems safeguards, along with proper processes, to protect client information from unauthorized access or use.
We will keep your personal information as long as it is necessary, as required by law. When we destroy personal information, we will use safeguards to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to the information during the process.
You have the right to ask whether we hold any personal information about you and to see that information, as provided by law. You also have the right to know how we collected your personal information, how we are using it, and to whom it may have been disclosed. If you believe any of the information we have collected about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have
the right to ask us to change it. If you show that your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, we will make the necessary changes. If you feel we have not dealt with your request to your satisfaction, you can follow our complaint resolution procedures.
You may register a privacy-related complaint by contacting the Privacy Officer of OMA Insurance Inc.. We will explain our complaint procedure to you and investigate all complaints. If a complaint is justified, we will take all appropriate steps to set the situation right, including changing our policies and practices if necessary. We will also let you know what other complaint procedures may be available to you.
