OMA Insurance Introduces Cyber Liability Endorsement to Office/Clinic Insurance Coverage

New insurance program provides enhanced data breach protection for office/clinic coverage.

The need for cyber liability insurance is on the rise, with service providers, retailers and government agencies experiencing significant data breaches of private details of thousands of users compromised on a regular basis. According to digital security company Gemalto, at least 276,000 data breaches occurred in Canada in 2014.

These high-profile breaches illustrate that no person or organization is immune to this threat, regardless of size or even the sophistication of their security.

Effective August 1, 2015 OMA Insurance and HUB have launched a cyber liability endorsement to the Office/Clinic Insurance Coverage that is designed to protect small to mid-sized offices from losses related to data breaches and cyber attacks.

This endorsement can be added at any time to an existing policy or at time of renewal, and includes the following features:
  • $25,000 first-party privacy breach expense coverage
  • $25,000 business interruption loss coverage
  • Introductory premium of $96 per year
  • No underwriting questionnaires are needed

This is one of the ways that OMA is working to deliver tailored solutions to physicians on a cost-effective basis. To find out more, contact HUB International directly at 1.855.662.0500.
