Student Centre

Welcome to the OMA Insurance Student Centre

As a medical student, you want to focus on your studies, not life insurance and disability. That’s why OMA Insurance has the Student Special Offer–think of it as an extended warranty on your career. Take the time to talk to us about protecting your future–a few minutes now can protect you for years to come.

Meet your Education & Engagement Specialists

When you meet our team, the first thing you'll notice is that they love what they do. They're knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and they actually do not sell insurance. What they do best is give you clear, objective information and advice so you can understand how and when insurance fits into your life. They are also fantastic presenters. Talk to your class reps about scheduling a workshop or lunch & learn for your classmates.

Like the red kangaroo, Sarah is originally from Australia but unlike our other favourite Aussie, Hugh Jackman, she comes without the accent or the ability to sing and dance. She does however, have an incredible ability to connect with students.

As one of the OMA Insurance Education and Engagement Specialists, Sarah enjoys helping early career physicians make informed decisions about their financial wellbeing as they begin their medical career.

Sarah's dream is to live in a world where every student understands insurance and everyone is covered. When she’s not meeting with students and offering advice, you can find her whipping up something in her kitchen as the woman is a legit baker.

    Profile

Originally from Mauritius, Anna is a true island girl. She loves the ocean, kayaking and spicy cuisine. So she gets two out of three in Toronto. She also enjoys French stand-up comedy, which is helped by the fact that she is fluent in the language.

Helping our members understand and navigate the sometimes complex world of insurance is one of the main reasons Anna feels excited and motivated to go to work every day. In her previous position within OMA Insurance she had the opportunity to respond to members' queries directly and developed a keen sense of the areas that members find most uncomfortable to navigate when it comes to their insurance needs, especially for students as the language of insurance can be somewhat complicated for them. Her main goal is to inform and educate OMA members about the various options available to them through OMA Insurance and help them to make the best decision possible.
